Platinax rankings
So Platinax now ranks 50th for its own name. Gee, I guess I shouldn’t aim for such a competitive searchphrase.
I’m generally a fan of Google - it is generally better search engine than MSN and Yahoo!
But, really, the current problems Google are having is pretty poor showing - in seeing original problems with the index, why didn’t Google simply revert to the older working version until they’d maybe figured out how to address the issues?
For the time being they seem happy to distribute flawed reults on the back of a shoddy index, and effectively demonstrate a second-rate product in a competitive marketplace.
Personally, I don’t see the sense in that.
After all, there’s another big company in search who already have a reputation for releasing sloppy code in great but flawed products. Maybe that’s what happens when you take on Microsoft staff…
Still, cheap digs aside, here’s hoping Google gets better soon. It’s embarrassing that the internet has to rely on Google to help sort information on the web. If only Microsoft could at least capture a good chunk of Google’s market share, then at least we would have three strong products - Google, Yahoo!, and Microsoft - rather than effective over-reliance on just one.
In the meantime, I’m going to change my homepage to Yahoo! search and test that search engine out more properly. Google just annoys me too much. If I see another high-ranking DMOZ/Google Directory listing for a competitive search term on Google I’ll scream.
