White knight plays foul

Seems like Edward Lewis at SEOconsultants has decided that trying to be a “whiteknight” is boring.

After positioning the website on SEO ethics and best practices, he then vindictively include’s Phil Craven’s WebWorkshop” in a list of Traffic Power affiliated sites - on the grounds that Kevin and Phil both had an argument once.

They continue the argument at the SearchEngineWatch forums, and it looks pretty ugly. Basically, Edward is trying to damage Phil’s reputation, but simply ends up dragging his own SEOconsultants through the mud.

People in business will disagree. Fin. Move on.

Edward hasn’t, so whatever reputation SEOconsultants may have had suffers for it.

  1. Right on target!

In my recent experience, I have found Ed to have needed a MAJOR attitude adjustment. I hope to see his little directory disappear and crumble as it deserves within the next few months.

Great post and very informative links.

  2. Certainly not everyone has good dealings with the company - though to be fair, as they assume full editorial control over their listings, there is no reason to assume that automatic listing is a given.

I should also mention that Edward Lewis later retracted his public allegations against WebWorkshop.

It wasn’t a smart move by any measure, and is a genuine shame that some of the people who deem themselves judges of the professionalsim of the SEO industry, have themselves shown such a lack of professionalism in doing so.

Still, best of luck to everybody in moving on - these sort of conflicts benefit nobody.
