Threadwatch meet
The Threadwatch meet at Stansted was small and informal affair, involving just over two dozen webmasters.
The whole gathering was set in the grounds of a lovely country park hotel near Standsted, and it was great for us all to meet one-another face to face, and simply chill-out.
There’s a little I can say about it, other than it was a genuinely pleasant meeting of webmasters, completely lacking in pretension or competition of any kind, and with required generosity.
The one thing I particularly learned from it is how much cameraderie there has been among webmasters, and despite being a relative newcomer to webmastering, I can still be a partof that.
However, a point of note is that many people had early roots in WebMasterWorld, when it was perceived by them as a real community of webmasters. The evolution of WebMasterWorld (WMW) into a full commercial entitity in its own right has been badly received by a number of them. Because of this, a significant number of very experienced and knowledgable webmasters have apparently left staff positions WebMasterWorld, and it’s difficult to see their expertise being properly compensated for.
Anyway, photos on the event can be found here: Threadwatch Standsted photos
