Getting free tips from a SEO dumbass
Some dumbass from a big name SEO company just emailed my contact address at one of my sites. He’s looking to build links to targeted pages for websites owned by one of the UK’s biggest banks.
Sure, I don’t mind a link purchase approach - but I don’t expect fucking pennies for links on an aged finance traffic with decent traffic.
Thing is, he provided the deep link URLs and keywords he was targeting. That was really dumb.
Give it a week or two and I’ll run a link checker on Yahoo!.
If his campaign has had any success at all, I’ll just follow the breadcrumbs to cheap and easy finance links with very little effort or cost involved.
Which is precisely why the big name company guy who emailed me was a dumbass.

Lol. :)
I spent an hour last week browsing through a fake ezines account (probably the same SEO agency!) and got myself a nice list of 50 of their clients, keywords they target etc. Big brands aside, I could probably move in a grab some business from them given the performance and quality of some of the SEO.
I’ve also seen SEO agencies offer dodgy 3 way link exchanges for big brands (ie, I get a link in their PR1 spam directory, etc) and hosting companies emailing me asking to link to them because it would improve *my* rankings.
In some ways, I’m glad there are so many dumb asses out there.

Sorry I was late approving comments - the bots have been really aggressive on all my WP installs without Akismet, so a few comment moderation reports got binned by accident. :)
