Precott Pentium: the hair-drying processor
Geez - I’m sat here running through the various news sources for stories to go on the news section, and nearby baby Maya lays restlessly asleep while the MMR vaccine she had a few days ago finally expresses itself in her system.
And - lo! and behold - the P4 processor on my relatively new machine starts up and in the quiet still of the bedroom sounds like a bloody hairdryer!!
Normally there’s a short burst when the PC starts up, but this is a sustained activity, still going on while typing.
Note to self - ensure the next machine is powered by AMD.
Of course, not that I had much choice choosing this machine…
NOTE: darn, still going like the clappers. They don’t call it the Prescott Pentium for nothing. :(
