New blog
So having a news blog is great for reporting news, but as I’m trying to provide information reasonably objectively, it offers little in terms of personal voice. Which feels extremely restrictive at times.
It’s not so much that the news blog is a blog, as much as news in a content management solution. It’s pretty wide of what blogs are generally accepted as being.
I’ve hesitated to move too widely into the blogsophere - after all, I have forums for two-way communication and dialogue. But sometimes I guess it’s a case of wanting to make statements without looking like I’m dictating to community members.
Therefore, this is what this blog will be for - to make statements and commentaries, generally brief, without trying to make a point of trying to impose my opinions.
I’ve also found myself contributing to other online forums, and providing comments and thoughts that really I should be doing in my own personal space.
I’m going to risk putting up comments and trackbacks on this blog, even though SixApart’s appallingly lax attitude to blog spamming issues is why this is more of a risk than it should be. Let’s see if they can get their act together for trackback moderation.
Anyway…Brian’s got a blog! A real one! Yay me.
