Quick update

Just to apologise for people who read this blog for the lack of new posts - I am still in the process of completely restructuring the entire Platinax site.

I’m currently filling the new structure with content, then will rewrite the CSS as the previous CSS template will not work properly with absolutes.

And just to comment…

One of the big challenges I’ve found of running a blog is finding my own voice.

When I started the news section, I originally added personal comment, but as I added a personal business blog, I felt the news section needed to sound objective - to simply provide information - while keeping subjective commentary in the blog itself.

However, I soon found myself adding articles in the blog - which makes no sense on a site where there are clearly defined article areas.

I’m therefore turning Platinax into an online magazine in blog forma,t with myself as the main writer, containing commentaries, articles, reviews, and news.

I have some very good articles and reviews especially coming up - not least some definitely useful guides to using RSS and .htaccess, with some custom built scripts for distribution.

Overall, I think the new format will work a lot better - and the fact that it’s built on the Wordpress platform means I can provide RSS feeds for any section - so if you don’t care to read everything, you can at least select a section that particularly appeals.

Still adding content - will probably write a press release to send when I’m finally ready, which should be in a couple of weeks. :)
