Miss Threadwatch? Time to rebuild it…
I began writing a post on Internet Business for June 28th, pointing out that Threadwatch had closed 1 year today.
I started to write about the standard of members there, the quality of stories, and how basically no other site has been able to replace it.
Simply put, no other news site I can think of focuses specifically on cutting edge news relating to all aspects of the internet, marketing, and business.
Um, but I run Internet Business, a flagging news and information site that’s doing - what?
I spent this weekend redeveloping IB into something that looks and feels better to me. Still room to edit, but in the meantime, I’m hunting for stories and already covered a number today:
Google UK: July update in progress?
How punctuation works in Google Search
Google changes the cache?
A Soviet Internet controlling the EU?
Google Street View: the cars, the unfortunate pics
AVG spams internet
Dr Who misses marketing opportunity
Sure, I’m never going to have the expressive abrasive wit of Nick Wilson, but I’m not going to try - I just want to create a site that can cover the stories TW would have covered.
Seems like a perfectly good use of the domain internetbusiness.co.uk…

I’m up for restarting it if you are :)

Heh, it’s amazing how time consuming it is just to keep up with a single day’s stories!!
After a brief spurt I wasn’t able to maintain momentum, but fully intended to get back to business with it. :)

Good idea Brian - been thinking lately how much TW is missed as well. There’s not anything that really fills the void, is there?
Either personal / company blogs that are good, but kind of offer a narrow perspective or broader news sites that don’t really have the gritty “real” feel that TW used to have.
Be happy to help out as well if needed. :)
