STFU about Jason Calacanis

If anyone wants to check out how to really leverage SEO, just watch Jason Calacanis in action.

Somewhere, somehow, the guy just knows how to bait people. No pun indeed, but he is one talented master baiter.

I’ve read before that link baiters are themselves some of the easiest people to bait, and Jason know how to work this to his advantage.

It’s getting tiring reading at places such as Threadwatch that Jason did this, said that. The guy is manipulating SEO bloggers by pricking at their egos, and in turn, centering conversation on himself. It’s very clever on his part, sad on everyone elses.

Take the recent discussions on Mahalo. Mahalo shouldn’t even be a discussion point. It’s achieved nothing, and offers nothing. It’s a project still in alpha and untested in the wider markets.

But Jason has managed to make it a talking point among SEO’s across the net, generating countless links set up in mockery to point at the site, filling Mahalo with link juice for future leverage.

Aaron Wall recently stated:

It is far more remarkable to come out of the gate slightly broken and biased and appeal to the overt biases of those who can give you authority. … Do it over and over until you have enough authority to clean up the site and become the market leader.

Jason Calacanis flaunts controversy with SEO’s, precisely because he knows he can leverage the authority they’ve built up for themselves - to create authority for himself and his projects.

If Jason actually wrote about his Word Of Mouth marketing strategy, he would leave egg on the faces of every mighty SEO ego.

2c.
