The challenges of database work
I’m working with a set of content databases at the moment.
It’s been a stupidly laborious amount of work so far - uploading the databases has been a nightmare so far, with continual network connection time-outs.
Now that I’m setting up the sites online to work from the databases, I’m having to do a lot of multi-tasking with windows open for:
1. Original database install for reference
2. Windows Explorer where the files I’m using are stored
3. Text file of site passwords and database queries .
4. Text file of the basic HTML template
5. Text file of the basic CSS template
6. Text file of PHP code to include for advertising pages
7. HTML to remove from the database via Wordpad
8. Site to be edited
9. Admin panel for site to be edited
10. CPanel main page
11. CPanel databases page
12. PHPmyAdmin window
13. CPanel Filemanager
14. CPanel Filemanger edit page
15. Wordpad for direct database edit (see 7.)
16. Yotophoto for stock images
17. Paint Shop Pro for HTML colour codes for CSS editing
All great fun - remind me to avoid working with databases again - not keen on the challenge of direct web development of database driven content sites. :)
