Some killer Wordpress plugins
Been looking at how to set up a specific image for posts under a specific category. Tried out some php code - languages are not my thing - so I couldn’t it to work by editing some potential php code snippets directly.
However, a search on Google found a plugin that I could use for the job, and also a couple of other killer plugins for helping with those Wordpress installs:
Category Images - “Displays image for each category associated with a post.” Sounds excatly what I was looking for. :)
Author Images - for my news sites, I really want to customise the author credits better - an image, and page linking to an author profile, including last posts. This looks like a start.
Dynamic Text Replace - I’d already been looking for a global replace for Wordpress - think affiliate links for a number of keywords, and the potential can be tested. Already to plug and play. :)
Top Posts by Category - I already use “Most read today” and “Most read all time” - they are already excellent for visitors, webmasters, and search engines. However, to help better get that content interlinked within your pages, “Top Posts by category” sounds like a kilelr solution.
Anyway, see if you like those. :)

Hi Brian,
yeah they’re pretty cool! I see you’re the opposite to myself, I much prefer hacking 1-2 lines of code than installing plug-ins - I actually wrote a blog post on fixing the more tag like this just this evening :D
Hey, btw, make with the sci-fi! :)
Cheers,
Alastair (not Reyolds unfortunately)
