Experimenting with Press Releases
Over the past week I experimented with Press Releases again - something I’ve not used much previously, not least because word was that Google had gotten down to devaluing them a couple of years ago, when submitting to PR Web was all the rage.
Anyway, I noticed Marketwire press releases getting some action on some pretty authoritative domains, so thought I’d test it out.
Results for SEO purposes aren’t in as yet, but I was pretty amazed at how some of the otherwise established publishers are using press releases as backfill, as Aaron Wall has long complained of.
Anyway, here are some of the sites I got my press releases published on with live links:
Arrivenet
Earth Times
Empire Relations
Excite
Finance Content
Globe Investor
Houston Chronicle
iWon
Marketwatch
Marketwire
MSN
My Way
Netscape
Page2go2
Scoop Asia
Silicon Investor
Street Insider
Yahoo
There are some very nice authoritative domains in there - but the big question is whether there’s any kick back to having your links on these. If there is, then it makes press releases a potentially very lucrative source of link buys.
