Yahoo!s graphic indexing failure

I just checked up on the stats of one of my sites - CR - comparative-religion.com.

It’s the UK’s largest resource on world religions, run as an information website.

It’s not simply “white-hat”, but is also a key authority in it’s area - linked to by over 40 universities, plus a half-dozen UK government websites.

So why has it suddenly lost all of its Yahoo! traffic?

You can see it vividly below - sudden drop in indexing, and a third of its unique visitors gone, as of July 21st:

Yahoo! ranking drop

If I made any money from the site then I’d be worried.

However, because it isn’t then the loss of traffic simply hurts my ego, rather than pocket.

I’m not saying the website deserves top rankings in Yahoo!

But I’m am saying that if Yahoo! can’t even recognise and rank a clean and authoritative website like CR, then there’s something awfully screwy with Yahoo! Search.
